Good Faith Estimate

Effective date: June 15, 2026

Under the No Surprises Act (effective January 1, 2022), you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges for non-emergency healthcare services — including mental health services — when you are uninsured or when you are not planning to use insurance to pay for services.

Your right to a Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to a written estimate of the expected total cost of any non-emergency services, including mental health counseling services, provided by Threads of Gold Counseling, pllc. This estimate is provided:

  • Upon scheduling of services
  • Upon request at any time, including before scheduling
  • At least one business day in advance of your scheduled service, when applicable

The Good Faith Estimate will include the expected cost of services based on the information available at the time the estimate is prepared.

Current session rate

The current rate for a 75-minute clinical session at this Practice is $185. This rate applies to all session formats: Walk & Talk, Sip & Share, Tour & Chat, and Telehealth.

Expected cost range

The total cost of mental health services varies significantly depending on individual clinical needs and the duration of the therapeutic relationship. A typical course of care might range from a handful of sessions for a focused goal to ongoing work measured in months or years.

For example, a client attending weekly sessions for six months would incur approximately $4,810 in session fees at the current rate of $185 per session. A client attending weekly sessions for one year would incur approximately $9,620 in session fees. These examples are illustrative only. Actual costs depend on session frequency, duration of care, and individual needs.

Coverage during community-based sessions

Some session formats take place in spaces that involve small everyday costs. The Practice handles those costs as follows:

What I cover

  • I cover the cost of one coffee or beverage for a Sip & Share session.
  • I cover all entry fees.

What is not covered

  • I do not cover meals, parking, transportation, or other unrelated costs.

Your right to dispute unexpectedly high charges

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than the Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the charge. You can start the dispute process by contacting the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services at www.cms.gov/nosurprises or calling 1-800-985-3059.

Requesting a Good Faith Estimate

You can request a Good Faith Estimate at any time by contacting the Practice at the email in the contact block below. A written estimate will be provided within the timeframes required by law.

Important notice

Keep a copy of this Good Faith Estimate in a safe place. You may need it if you are billed a higher amount.
